A common question is "which is better: face, QR or IC card". There is no single winner — it is scene matching.

Experience

Face is most frictionless, no queue at peaks; QR needs phone-in-hand with stalls; IC card needs the physical card, easy to lose or lend. Choose face when frictionless matters most.

Security

Face with liveness resists impersonation and needs no physical credential; QR can be screenshotted and forwarded; IC cards can be cloned. For high security, prefer face + liveness.

Cost

QR has the lowest retrofit cost (use existing phones); IC card needs issuance and readers; face terminals cost more per unit but save cards and O&M. At scale, face amortizes best.

Integration

All three integrate with HR / one-card / visitor systems, but face also needs gallery management and ID-matching. Check open API and standard interfaces when choosing a platform.

Selection advice

For office lobbies, metro and campuses with high-concurrency frictionless needs, choose face; for existing card systems and low-cost retrofit, choose QR/IC; the best is "multimodal in one device" covering the whole population.
